Dominique Quintana

Dominique is excited to learn how to better to support and serve children and families as they navigate the first three years.

Dominique is working towards her Assistance for Infancy diploma from the Southwest Institute of Montessori Studies. Dominique has also been apart of creating Keres Children’s Learning Center’s Infant/Toddler Community that will be opening this fall. Dominique believes that Montessori should be accessible to all parents and families because it teaches children life long skills they will need to be successful in the world. She has been working on language revitalization within her community and is passionate about reclaiming the education of Indigenous children in the Pueblo.

Here’s what Dominique has to say about her scholarship year

Being able to work with the Peace Program opened up a whole new area of possibility for my work. It has inspired be too look beyond the classroom and address what is lack of training in parent education. Having a mentor during this process will give me the confidence I need both in the classroom as well as being able to educate parents in the Montessori methods.
